Creativity has been a constant thread throughout Theresa’s life. Encouraged by the freedom to explore and create from an early age, she gravitated toward art as a child and quickly discovered it was her favorite subject in school. Her artistic journey began with portraiture and watercolor illustration, where she developed a string foundation in observation, composition and storytelling through Imagery.

While pursuing a career as an early childhood educator, Theresa continued to nurture her creative spirit. After retiring from teaching, she felt a renewed calling to devote herself fully to visual arts. This transition opened the door to a period of experimentation and discovery that led her to abstract painting.

Today, Theresa creates expressive mixed-media works that combine acrylic paint, oil paint, paint sticks, collage, graphite, charcoal, and other mark making materials. Her layered compositions explore intuition, memory, emotion, and the beauty of unexpected connections. Through texture, color, and gestural line work, she invites viewers into visual conversations that are both personal and open to interpretation.

In addition to her studio practice, Theresa continues teaching workshops, encouraging others to embrace creativity and trust their artistic instincts. She also enjoys consulting with emerging artists, sharing insight from her own experience building an art career and developing a sustainable creative practice.
